You will be enlightened, encouraged, and empowered as you read the documented truth from the lips of our past presidents, legislators, and justices.

Removing God from the Public Arena

God help us when we deny the very One who endows us with liberty and who has blessed America, the God who historically exalts or collapses nations based on their ackowledgement of Him.  This seven minute video is a call to every God-fearing American to speak up and tell our government leaders that our history is not to be revised and our faith is not to be erased from public life.  Although the Capitol Visitors Center is open, displays can still be altered to correct and restore the truth. Watch the video and take action!

An Amazing 18th Century Election Sermon

Samuel Langdon, New Hampshire pastor and former Harvard president, preached this message in 1788. It’s title? The Republic of the Israelites An Example to the American States. Election sermons were common throughout the 18th and 19th centuries, and this one shows the practical application of the Bible illustrating the structure and organization of America’s new government. The U.S. Constitution was still one state vote away from ratification.  Shortly after Langdon preached this message, New Hampshire became the ninth state to approve the constitution and thus install the most amazing and unparalleled national organizing document in world history. Don’t skim this message! Read and absorb its content.  (Click on link)

1773 “Artillery Sermon” on Liberty

Simeon Howard, a Boston pastor, took Galatians 5:1 as a text for a message on the defense of liberty, preached to an artillery company stationed in Boston.  Artillery sermons, as they were called, were typically preached to military audiences and were common in the 18th and 19th centuries.  Have you ever heard a sermon like this one?

Capitalism vs. Socialism: Ten Cannots

Reverend William J.H. Boetcker was a turn-of-the-century minister born just 18 years after the assassination of President Lincoln.  Lincoln has been attributed comments that were actually published by this Presbyterian clergyman just before America’s entry into World War I.  The “Ten Cannots” are a series of maxims that are bedrock to America’s economic system–capitalism–and another reminder that socialism in any form does not work and is certainly the antithesis of of Biblical thought.  These principles, though not referenced with chapter and verse in the Bible, can easily be retrofitted into a Scripture-based message on stewardship, responsibility, and the Biblical foundations for our economic system.  Capitalism is not perfect because men are not perfect.  Here are Boetcker’s Ten Cannots:

  1. You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
  2. You cannot help small men by tearing down big men.
  3. You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
  4. You cannot lift the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer.
  5. You cannot help the poor man by destroying the rich.
  6. You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than your income.
  7. You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.
  8. You cannot establish security on borrowed money.
  9. You cannot build character and courage by taking away man’s initiative and independence.
  10. You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves.

Health Care: Socialized or Individualized?

God has ordained civil government to protect the rights of its citizens, not to provide for their personal needs. The current invasion of government into the private sector economy is unprecedented!  Government-controlled (and owned) economy is the classic definition of socialism, no matter what economic sector it might be.  The health care industry is one of the largest in our economy. Keep your eyes on health care issues. Nationalizing health care will constitute a MASSIVE transfer of power, thus a massive transfer of liberty!  This will affect not only you, but your children and grandchildren. What kind of legacy will you leave them? Read the short article and be sure and listen to the brief audio of Dr. Richard Land sharing his thoughts and personal experience on the issue.
